I was absolutely embarrassed looking at myself (21m) in my proposal video. I did not recognize the person down on one knee. I was massive (270 lbs) . 6 months Later, I'm 35 lbs lighter and have gained muscle. Probably lost a total of 50 lbs in fat. (About 8 lbs/month) I'm gonna share how I did it because if my ass could do it, you can too. Don't get me wrong, I'm still grinding. However, I'm super proud of how far I've come.
Brief Backstory: I was a college Catcher on a scholarship. Leaving high-school, I was 5'11" 185 and muscular. I was eventually injured and unable to play anymore. I had 2 surgeries and got very depressed. Thus, leading me to gain about 85 lbs in 2.5 years. I had never learned to balance what I ate because I was constantly training and active with my team. So, I could eat whatever and stay a relatively good weight.
STARTING OUT:
-Decide what you're going for. Fat loss (do more cardio), fat loss with some muscle gain (do high reps low weight weight lifting) etc... and plan out how to do so. Many sites will explain how to do so.
-Try to average the calories you have been taking in normally and begin a deficit. I won't go too much into detail as there are plenty of sites that walk you through it. However, do not and I mean DO NOT do a massive deficit too early. If you were consuming 2900 calories, try consuming 2500-2700 calories. Let your body acclimate to less food. Otherwise, it will try to store the food you DO take in and give you no energy. Driving you to eat more
-Don't weigh yourself until you have committed to a diet and exercise routine for 2 weeks. This will help you avoid being discouraged by the number you see when you start.
-After first weigh in, rinse and repeat. Wait 2-3 weeks before weighing again. Stick to your plan and begin measuring aspects like waist size instead. For me, I started noticing I needed less belt loops and had more definition in my face, shoulders, chest.
FOOD: -Especially when starting off, just make sure you stay in deficit. Its less about what you are eating but how MUCH you eat when you start. You can focus on a more balanced diet that will boost your energy and weight loss once you can consistently stay in your deficit.
-You're not eating enough protein. Seriously. If you think you've consumed enough, eat more. Protein is satiating as hell. It also increases your core temperature when asleep which means more calories burnt.
-Try to balance WHEN you eat. Don't consume all your calories all at once or eat a huge amount of calories at night.
-Alcohol. Best to steer clear as best you can. It causes you to hold more water weight. If you must, try to stick to 1-2 days that you drink per week. For me, I choose Sundays because I don't work and it's football time baby.
OTHER TIDBITS: -Make sure you give yourself rest days. I was working out 7 days per week and it eventually drained me and did me no good anyways. Your body needs a day or two to rest in order to recover, boost your metabolism, and increase your immune system. On these days, eat a few less calories than usual tho.
-Have a cheat day. Now. How often you do this depends on how many calories you decide to consume on those days. If you want to go ballistic, do once every 2 weeks or so. If you just want to go a little overboard, you can probably get away with once per week. Personally, I did once every 2 weeks. Cheat days are great for your metabolism. A calorie surplus forces it to work harder to metabolize those excess calories and essentially kicks it into overdrive.
-For my fat loss muscle gain maniacs. I know, I know, I know....shits hard 🤣 it defies everything we know about anatomy. You need a calorie surplus to gain muscle and a calorie deficit to lose fat. What has worked for me, may not work for you. However, this what I did: During heavy weight lifting weeks, I would eat the exact amount of calories allowed for my deficit. Focus protein for muscle building and carbs for quick energy. Avoid fats. After a week of that, I would grind cardio or low weight weightlifting with high reps. Then, I would consume less than my recommended amount of calories. Those weeks suck big time but it's the sacrifice you gotta make to do something that in theory SHOULD be extremely difficult.
The idea behind this is to gain muscle and have that aid in your weightloss. To explain, muscle burns 2x the calories that fat does at rest. So over time, as you build, then maintain, then build, maintain.... your body will be buring the fat on you because the muscle you gained will need it. It's a delicate balance and you really need to know your body before you do it.
-Finally: STAYING MOTIVATED
-Yeah, this is a tough one. Staying motivated is the most difficult part of all of this. It can change from person to person. So, I will share my philosophy and maybe it will help you
-Just do it. YES it is clichè as hell. However, Nike has it right. You will feel great the first couple weeks to a month or so. But sooner or later, it's gonna catch up to you. You may not be seeing the results you want or, you're just tired. I burnt out after about 2 months or so. I gave myself a few days off then kept going even though every part of my body was begging me not to. I wanted to be lazy, I wanted a juicy burger and a milkshake, I wanted to do whatever I wanted like I did before...but I just...didn't. I would go to the gym before I allowed those thoughts in my head. The idea is to be completely numb and just GO. Don't allow yourself to think about it until you're already at the gym, or running, or biking etc. Because at that point it's like, "Well shit im already doing it might as well finish."

ITs been fun while it lasted, but there is absolutely nothing redeeming about this class now.
Glad bleed nodes have been nerfed into the ground over the last three leagues, now they finally obliterate its one redeeming quality .. max block and spell block.
You might be able to invest in block to get something like 85% attack block and 50% spell block, at a big hit to damage. But if you want any sort of damage you will need to go versatile combatant for 60/60.
Its a massive reduction in block capeability and 33% increase in damage taken for an ascendancy that was paper thin other than block. that added to the nerf to blood and sand and Rumi's being a non-entity, means dual wield block builds are now a thing of the past.
If they really are adding more accessibility to phys dot multiplier on the tree, then its a further kick in the teeth of the poor Gladiator.

But Welcome to the new Gladiator .. aka raider. 90% Evasion, 100% spell suppression 50% att and Spell block. Thank you very much.

G'day lads
Recently I've started playing in old abandoned buildings where the paint is peeling off from walls and suddenly I thought if it was a health hazard to play in such buildings? I'll add a video of the site in a few hours, but it's an old soviet age 4 story building. Paint is peeling off walls, dust everywhere and broken glass. In a nutshell it's a basic abandoned soviet building. Safe to play there or is it a health hazard?
If anyone knows a better subreddit where to post this please let me know.

When I was using my 980 the FPS was a steady 40-55 but when I upgraded my GPU to a 3080 ti I keep experiencing frame drops when in combat. The game is near unplayable because of this. I've tried the following steps:

  1. Limit framerate to 144
  2. lowered settings
  3. Disabled full-screen optimisation in the compatibility settings
It is likely not the GPU as I have no problems running other games
